The International Scientific Forum on Home Hygiene (IFH) is committed to protecting your privacy while using our website. This Statement of Privacy, given according to the Data Protection Act, applies to the site located at www.ifh-homehygiene.org, (the “Website”) and governs data collection and usage of personal data through this Website.


Collection of your Personal Information

In using the IFH website you may be prompted to, and enter personal identification details (e.g. e-mail address, name, areas of interest and expertise), in order to receive benefits such as newsletters or targeted communications. We do not receive from, or provide your personal information to third parties. If this policy is to change you will be notified and asked to provide your consent.


Use of your Personal Information

IFH collects and uses your personal information to respond to your request for receipt of newssheets and send targeted communications about events, issues etc related to home hygiene. We may also collect demographic information, such as your areas of interests and expertise, and country of origin, which may be used to improve the content of the website and the quality of the services we deliver to you, or for statistical purpose.


Access to and Disclosure of Your Personal Information

Each user who provides details in the process of creating a user account on the website can maintain their own data, and subscribe or unsubscribe from services including deleting their account. IFH authorize some nominated administrators to access your personal data as part of their appointed role as data or website manager. All appointed contractors and staff are bound by the IFH privacy policy and relevant legislation.

IFH may be required to disclose your personal information if required to do so by law to: (a) conform to the legitimate requests by the competent authorities or to the law and comply with legal process served on IFH in relation to the Website; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of IFH; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Website, or the public.

This Website uses “cookies” to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a webpage server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. Cookies cannot usually be used to identify you: the information is stored and processed in a way that is not combined to any personal information you might be asked to provide on the Website (e.g. during the registration process). We use them in order identify viewing habits and in turn to make improvements to the website and our services.

IP addresses will be logged in order to identify and block any attempt to compromise the security of the website or its data.

IFH secures your personal information on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. IFH will also maintain an off site backup of your personal information and website content which will be periodically updated to reflect changes. For this reason, your data may still exist in off site backups for a short period after you have deleted your account from the website.

IFH will occasionally update this Statement of Privacy to comply with any changes in the requirements imposed by the applicable laws and regulations, but also to reflect any company and user feedback. IFH encourages you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how we protect your information.
