| Abstract/Summary | This study examined the distribution of the qacED1 gene in 283 strains of Gram-negative bacteria isolated from clinical specimens from China using PCR. Clonally different strains of Enterobacter cloacae, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, Flavobactrium spp. (N ¼ 15), were isolated from various clinical specimens. The qacED1 gene was detected in 161 of the 283 clinical isolates of Gram-negative bacteria (56.9%). J Hosp Infect. 2008;69:394-5. |
